fine art Maternity Portraits in Denver, CO

the maternity Experience

A pregnant woman wearing a black lace robe, standing indoors with her hand on her stomach, in a dimly lit room with picture frames, a light, and a plant in the background.

Pregnancy is a transformative chapter — one that deserves imagery that feels quiet, intentional, and true to your experience. My maternity sessions are rooted in artistic portraiture, grounded presence, and thoughtful design rather than checklist posing.

These images honor softness, strength, and the beautiful nuance of carrying life. Whether you want soft editorial emotion, classic low-light artistry, or a more intimate fine art edge, we guide every step of the experience together.

This isn’t just a photo. It’s a record of your strength, your love, and the life you’re bringing into the world.

What is included in your

maternity session

Every maternity session at Elle Photo Studio is designed slowly and intentionally — so you never feel rushed, posed, or unsure of what to do.

From our first conversation to the artwork you take home, you’re fully supported through a creative, guided process.

Your experience includes:

Creative planning & vision call

We begin with a personal consultation to talk about your story, your season of life, and how you want to feel in your portraits. We’ll plan wardrobe, mood, styling, and the overall direction of your session together.

Wardrobe & Styling Guidance

You’ll receive guidance on what to wear, how to prepare, and how to curate pieces that photograph beautifully and feel authentic to you. You’re never expected to figure this out alone.

Before we plan your session wardrobe and concept in our consultation, you might find my free Maternity Prep Guide helpful — it gives useful tips on choosing colors, silhouettes, and posing comfort so you feel confident even before step 1.

Professional Hair & Makeup

On the day of your session, you’re welcomed into a calm, relaxed space with professional beauty styling so you can settle in, feel cared for, and step in front of the camera feeling confident and present.

If you already know exactly how you like to show up, a self-styled option is available. Either way, I’ll ensure your look photographs cohesively so your images feel intentional, timeless, and true to you.

Fully Guided Portrait Session

You don’t need modeling experience. I guide you through every movement, pose, and expression in a way that feels natural, flattering, and true to you — whether your session leans intimate, editorial, maternity, or fine art portraiture.

Private Reveal & Artwork Design Appointment

After your session, you’ll return for a private reveal where you see your portraits for the first time. Together we curate your favorites and design how your images will live — as artwork for your home, a fine art album, keepsake prints, or a digital archive.

Curated Digital Archive

Your selected portraits are delivered digitally for personal keeping and private sharing, alongside any artwork or albums you choose to preserve.

The Art you’ll hold

  • A framed grayscale painting of a woman in a flowing gown hangs on a dark wall. Purple pampas grass in a clear vase is on the left, and part of a vintage white upholstered headboard with ornate carvings is at the bottom.

    WALL ART

Every piece is individually crafted by skilled artisans who treat your portrait like artwork, not a product.

Each canvas is worked on individually by multiple artisans. Every layer, every finish, every edge is intentional. The result is a piece that feels more like fine furniture than photography.

  • Close-up of a black hardcover book with thick white pages resting on a textured wooden surface.

    Album

Your portrait session is a journey of self-discovery. An album is where that journey lives.

Albums are designed to stand the test of time - physically and emotionally. Long after a session, clients tell me their albums are worth more than they imagined: a gift to themselves, a reminder of strength, a treasured artifact.

  • Close-up of a photo album with black cover, open on a table, showing black and white photographs.

    Matted prints

Some stories are meant to be displayed. Some moments should be seen every day.

Matted prints are handcrafted to elevate your favorite images into art you can touch, frame, and enjoy wherever you choose. They add presence to your walls, bedside table, or entryway — an everyday reminder of beauty, belonging, and grace.

your investment

My work is an intimate, fully guided portrait experience created slowly and intentionally — from planning to final artwork.

Most clients invest between $2,500–$6,500 in their curated portrait collection, depending on how many images they fall in love with and how they choose to preserve them.

You don’t need to decide anything upfront. We create first, then design your portraits together after you see them — as artwork for your home, a fine art book, or a private digital archive.

FAQ

  • We are currently booking 1 month out. That being said, I know with maternity sessions we sometimes have to plan for last-minute bookings. That is OK, we’ll get you in - always. I’ve taken photos as late as 38 weeks. Regularly I recommend booking as soon as possible - especially if you want to take advantage of a payment plan. Booking between 27 - 34 weeks is recommended.

  • My private photo studio is based in South Metro Denver (Littleton/Centennial) and easily accessible from all the major highways

  • Since your experience include professional hair and makeup, a 1.5hr guided session as well as same day gallery/image reveal and ordering appointment, I would say plan for 5hrs at the studio. If we decide to do the reveal/ordering appointment at another time, this will reduce the time to 3 hrs. We’ll decide during our consultation what works best for you.

  • Once you’ve booked, I will send you my prep guide, which has several tips and ideas on what to bring.

As part of the experience, we sit down for a session design consultation to plan the overall look and wardrobe for your session.

  • I will direct you 100% of the way. You don’t need to know how to pose or have any experience in front of the camera at all.

  • Professional hair and makeup are complimentary; however, if you prefer no makeup or to do your own, that is perfectly fine.

  • No need to wait! You’ll get to see your images right after your session. That way we see them together, talk through edits and select your favorite images to purchase.

  • All my collections include corresponding digital images.

Any wall art purchased is accompanied by the corresponding digital image.

  • I retouch all final images. I usually do a clean-up of backgrounds and remove temporary blemishes such as bruises, scrapes, and pimples. We will discuss any further edits during the design consultation.
